Application tips

STEP ONE

Prepare & Clean Your Drivetrain

Before lubricating, ensure the drivetrain is completely clean and dry. Wax-based lubricants require a contamination-free surface to bond effectively.

Rinse loose dirt with water, then apply a bike-specific cleaner (such as FluxClean) to the chain, cassette, chainrings, and derailleur pulleys. Allow it to soak for about 5 minutes to break down oils and debris. Agitate critical wear areas with a stiff nylon brush while rotating the cranks backward.

Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed until all components are visibly clean. Dry with a microfiber towel and allow any remaining moisture to air dry.

A fully clean, completely dry chain is essential for maximum Triboflux performance.

STEP TWO

Lubricate with Triboflux

Shake the bottle well before use. Shift into the largest chainring and rear cog to increase chain tension and improve lubricant penetration.

Position the bottle tip over the upper chain run just before the cassette and hold it steady. While slowly backpedaling, apply one drop to each roller as it passes beneath the nozzle. Do not move the bottle — let the chain move under the tip and maintain a consistent pedal speed for even coverage.

After lubricating the entire chain, backpedal 2–3 extra revolutions and shift through all gears to distribute the lubricant across the cassette and chainrings.

Allow the lubricant to set for at least 4–6 hours (overnight is ideal). Once dry, wipe the outer chain surface while backpedaling several revolutions.

Wax belongs inside the chain, not on the surface.

STEP THREE

Reapply as Needed

In dry conditions, reapplication is typically not necessary until the drivetrain becomes audibly dry.

Typical intervals:

250–400 miles Road / Indoor
150–300 miles Gravel / Mixed Terrain

In wet, muddy, or gritty conditions:
Clean thoroughly, dry completely, and reapply.

For peak efficiency and drivetrain longevity, perform a full wash and reapplication every 3–4 lubrication cycles.

Performance Reminder

Proper preparation and cure time are what separate average lubrication from measurable performance.

Clean preparation. Precise application. Full cure time.
Snap. Drip. Ride.
